Taking a quick break from the log cabins, this is the last Christmas quilt for a while. This one doesn’t have a fancy name yet. i’m just calling it the Christmas string quilt for now. And it’s still just a top. I had originally thought that I would machine quilt it, but am now thinking I might hand quilt it. This is another great way to use up scraps and I did use up nearly all the Christmas prints by this point. You can see I added lots of red and green solids to round it out. These blocks were made with liberated piecing on the diagonal and trimming with that 9.5 inch square ruler. I love the diamonds and Xs that this pattern creates and that you can throw in even the ugliest fabrics and they’ll disappear.
