My entry for this year's block contest. When I got these fabrics I liked them individually, but not as a group and just didn't know what to do with it. The pack sat around for a good two months. A couple of days ago, I got it out and played around in my sketchbook with some ideas. I finally settled on this one. This block is inpsired by Tonye Phillips, Gwen Marston, Mary Lou Weidman, Jude Hill and Joanne Meyers. After I got the applique done, it needed more so I added a lot of back stitch. For the curious, here's the back.
I went back to make a mosaic of my previous blocks. I guess houses are always on my mind, but I also considered doing a tree with moon, an owl and various patchwork star patterns.
Now, back to sewing!
