What's New Pussycat?

When you create art work for a silk screen you want to try to use up all the space you can.  So, when I decided to do the ornaments I added two kitties to the artwork just to use up the space.  I wasn't even sure how they'd be used, but lots of people love cats and they are such fun to draw!  During the first printing we just did all the images at once on a piece of Essex fabric.  That's one reason why the border around the images is a little tight.  We are rectifying that on the next printing of the ornaments.

But, in the meantime, I have 8 more of these two cat panels that I'll be listing in the shop when I get my act together.  These two are my samples and they were such fun to do! If you think you'd be interested in this two cat panel to stitch your own, would you rather it as a kit or just the panel?

I did the blue and yellow one first when I thought I'd try covering some of the brown lines with stitch.  That is always an option, of course, but I think it's not my preference.  I did have lots of fun making the flowers for that one though.

On the pink and orange kitty I did my usual filling in of shapes with various stitches.  Then it was time to fill the body and I made the collar, but wasn't sure what to do next.  On Monday I added the heart after the horrific tragedy in Las Vegas and filled in around it with the mane.

I still haven't figured out what to do with the orange and pink kitty, but I have cut it out and prepared it as a patch.  I thought about adding the blue and yellow one to my denim jacket as you can see below.  Any ideas for the orange and yellow one?  Would you buy a finished patch to use however you like?  It could be used as an ornament I suppose, but it's bigger than the other ones.  It could also be the center of a quilt block or used on a bag or multiple other things.

Yesterday I made the sweet fabric journal below with the blue and yellow cat and it's now for sale in my Etsy shop. I'll post here when I list the two cat panels.

PS- I've started building a monthly newsletter email list.  So far, I only have 5 subscribers, but I'd love to have more before the first newsletter goes out in November. This monthly email will include a coupon for my Etsy shop (for newsletter subscribers only), any upcoming events in the month, the occasional giveaway, and possibly some seasonal recipe or other goody.  I hope you'll consider joining the list here.  It's a completely separate list from the blog subscriber list (see the sidebar on my website). You are welcome to sign up for one or both, or none at all.  As always, I will never share your information with anyone.
