Shop Update :: Hand Stitched Felt Ornaments

2020 Felt Ornaments.JPG

Over the past week I’ve been working on a few new ornaments for the shop. These are all hand stitched with 100% wool felt and organic cotton stuffing. Most were made with a couple of fantastic patterns by Larissa Holland at mmmcrafts.blogspot.com (Etsy: mmmcrafts). She has a sale coming up too! Definitely check it out if you like making little tiny joyful ornaments.

I bought four patterns from her: French Hen, Snow Bird, Santa Claus, and Mrs. Claus. The designer allows cottage crafters to make a certain amount to sell, so I thought I’d make a few for the shop. The patterns are amazingly detailed and worth every penny. If you are inclined to make your own I can highly recommend the patterns.

Turns out though, while the stitching isn’t difficult, they are time consuming and thus are priced accordingly. The Snow Bird is my favorite to make, very straight forward and beautiful. The French Hen is delightful, but more involved. I plan to make the Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus ornaments for our own tree, but will probably not make them for sale as they are very intricate.

Anyhoo, the ones for sale are now up on my Etsy shop: Kristin Shields Art.

In addition to the ones above I made a couple of little ornaments of my own wonky design- the purple bird and the blue cat. You can now find all these in my shop (link above) along with a ton of other Christmas items and everyday art pieces.

Last thing, I made this very Christmassy French Hen and just couldn’t part with her. She’s so adorable!
