Handcrafted Christmas

As you probably figured out, we love to make things here!  Chloe decided early in December to make herself a new Christmas stocking.  She picked out the felt and made up her own design.  She finished the embroidery well before the holiday, but we finally got the stocking sewed up just a couple of days before Christmas.  It's so cute!  She even knit the little scarf around the snowman's neck.

Here it is with Ryan's.  His stocking is cross stitched and I made it just in time for his first Christmas.

This year I made a special little present for both sets of grandparents.  I forgot to take a photo of the first one, but it looks much like this one.  This is an accordian style book.  I bought the folded inside cardstock and the outside cover cardboard from Hot Potatoes.  I covered the cardboard with this beautiful handmade paper and made the front title piece with ribbon, charm and eyelets.

And here is the finished product.  It looks great and is a nice, sentimental gift for the grandparents.  There are actualy 14 spaces for photos in the book.  I first got the idea for such a project on Soulemama's blog.

We had a lovely Christmas Eve at my parent's house with lots of readings of stories and poems.  Christmas day they came to our house where we lazed around, ate a fantastic feast and watched "It's a Wonderful Life".  Gosh, I love that movie.  I think I see something new every time I watch it.
