I'm giving this another try.  This time we're at the public library in Timaru, New Zealand.  Yay- the photo uploads work!  This one above is the sight our first night in Australia when we watched the flying foxes come out for the night.  It was incredible!  There are thousands of them.  Later in the trip we went and watched the bats in their roosting trees just as they were beginning to wake up for the night.

This photo was taken at the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge!  What an exciting trip that was.  I was very nervous, but made it through with flying colors.  All of us did great.  The weather was perfect and the views were awesome.

On our way through the Blue Mountains we saw this orchard sign.  The owner came out to talk to us and gave us some of his delicious Johnathan apples.

The bird life has indeed been awesome.  We've added more than 60 species to our life lists.  We did a birding tour of the Capertee Valley with a professional birder.  She sure knew her stuff!  We saw flocks of Sulphur Crested Cockatoos (as above), Kookaburras (below) and lots of other great parrots and smaller birds.  A Wedge-tailed Eagle swooped down right in front of the car.  What a thrill.  We've got more photos to be down loaded when I get a chance.

The other day we headed for Christchurch, New Zealand and we are now traveling around in an RV for the next 3 weeks.  We had a bit of time in Christchurch yesterday where I took the photo below.  More later when I hope we can get another good internet connection!
