SOQS :: The Undercover Quilters On the Divinity of Second Chances

This special exhibit by The Undercover Quilters is an oldie, but a goodie!  This is one of my favorite books that we have ever done:  On the Divinity of Second Chances by Kaya McLaren.  This was our second quilt book and these quilts were first shown in 2011.  However, they had never been shown at Sisters.  Last fall when the rules changed and we had to come up with an exhibit asap, we decided to show this group of quilts.  They sure looked nice in this spot.  That yellow building was the perfect setting!

There are several themes in the book that are repeated over and over in these quilts: trees, family, swings, sunflowers, and the moon.  I highly recommend this book!  It is an uplifting story about a family full of quirky characters.  We were lucky to have met the author here in Bend and for our original exhibit she even made a quilt to accompany ours!
