Sisters Quilt Show Bonus- Party time!

004

After the quilt show, the organizers take a week to recover, then they put on a fabulous party for the volunteers.  I wasn't able to go last year because I was out of town, but I made sure to go this year.  We had wonderful food, a live band and more quilts!  It was fun to see so many volunteers and I think everyone there won a door prize!  The location is the new Five Pine Lodge in Sisters and it's wonderful.  I can't wait to get to go there for a retreat some time.   The Stitchin' Post has quilt retreats there now and I can't think of a lovelier setting.

This is one of Jean Wells' quilts based on her book Portraits from Nature.  It may actually be in the book, but I don't have a copy.  The inner portion is a quilt that is sewed to the top of the green one.  I'm using this technique on something I'm working on right now.

I love how the border quilting is a continuation of the applique.

I showed you this one before during the quilt show, but I wanted to get some close up photos and thought you might like to see them too.

Okay, now I'm really ready to get back to normal here.  I've got goodies in the mail and lots of my own work to show you.  Have a wonderful Sunday!
