Leapin' Lizards

I came across the Lizard Ridge pattern some time ago, printed it off and it sat on my desk for a while.  It was in the background though.  I really wanted to see if I would find the pattern enjoyable to knit or would it be a chore?

It turns out I LOVE it!  It's a very cool way of making a very colorful piece of knitting and my hands just want to keep going.  I happened to have a couple of skeins of Noro Kureyon in my stash, so I started with those.  I bought an extra skein in a different colorway because with Noro you can mix them up and the colors will often blend just fine.  As it turns out I needed one more skein, so picked up another one yesterday.

I planned all along to make this into a pillow, so I added the garter stitch border to make it fit a 14" pillow form.  It hasn't been blocked yet, but when it does the bumpiness will disappear.  Right now I'm knitting a garter stitch backing which will be in two pieces so it can be buttoned.  More on that later.

I can see myself doing this again and in fact, bought four skeins of Kureyon for another pillow.  If it turns out I need more than that I'll post it here.  I also discovered a Lizard Ridge knitalong if you are interested.  Oooh, I also just found a pattern for a Lizard Ridge Hat.  I see this pattern has captured the imagination of many others before me!
