Fair time

Sorry for the long delay in posting folks.  It's been another one of those weeks along with some major problems with Typepad.  Along with problems getting on the site to post, I've had only intermittent looks at all my Typepad blogs since Tuesday.  We were gone on Wednesday and Thursday.  Just this morning things seemed to be working normally, then it all started again.  I'll be amazed if this post makes it.  Of course, I finally contacted them last night and they say nothing was wrong on their end.

Anyway, I've got lots to show you, but the photos are not downloaded yet.  So, I'm going back to the County Fair which took place at the beginning of the month.  I got a first place with A Few of My Favorite Things (see it above along with friends Cathi and her daughters and Sarah's kids).  Chloe got a first for her carved Santa,

three seconds for her Buttermilk Spice Cookies and two photos, but best of all she got a Best of Show for a mixed media painting she did.  Boy, was she excited!

In other fair news, our two day trip this week was to the Oregon State Fair where I saw some really wonderful quilts and other items, but the camera was left behind!  We also saw Garrison Keillor's Rhubarb Tour which was great fun for us as well as the kids.  Mark and I haven't been to a Prairie Home Companion show in about 20 years and I wanted to make sure the kids could see Garrison in action.  He actually did bring the show here to Bend the year before we moved here.  I've kept hoping for a repeat, but it seemed it may be a long time coming so we made this a priority.  Meanwhile I've been sewing, knitting and stitching and have lots to show you in the next few days.
