Sucked in

After seeing the gorgeous ripple blankets here, here  and here,  I resisted for a while, but eventually I was sucked in.  I learned to crochet as a kid.  I remember making a crocheted baby blanket as a gift nearly 20 years ago, but I haven't crocheted in a very long time.  I actually needed to go get a book because I didn't seem to have the little one I remember learning from so long ago.

Thus, came this start.  I've done a few more rows since then and I have a huge stash of this dk weight yarn because I was going to do a southwest color scheme and then decided it wasn't working for me so I bought new colors to go with what I had.  There are many different brands in here, mostly merino, but some wool and alpaca blends too.  I used a size E hook.  The pattern is from the book, 200 Ripple Stitch Patterns by Jan Eaton (pattern #8, Soft Waves).
