I managed to get my two quilts done, photographed and submitted last Monday. The quilt above was named Golden Geese after it was finished and I realized those triangles reminded me of geese. I made this one with Gwen Marston's liberated triangles. This one uses the challenge fabric mixed with various commercial silks. I machine quilted most of it, but did some hand quilting on the brightest silk triangles. This one measures 24 x 30.
Plain and Fancy is the one I started before I heard about the challenge. It was already created with commercially dyed silk strings and hand dyed pinapple fiber strings free pieced on fabric foundations. This quilt is one of my favorites for the colors and silks. I was sad to have to cut off the borders, but it looks great as it turned out too. The permanent wave is better, but not all the way gone and I'm getting used to it. I have it on the wall in the living room and it surprises me everytime I see it. That's what happens when you have the same quilt in the same spot for 10 years and change it out suddenly. This one measures 39 x 39.
