Retreating

025

The retreat was marvelous fun!  We had such a good time and laughed so much.  The food was incredible, the company was delightful and I got a lot done.  I worked on several boring things like bindings on 3 quilts and a community quilt that needed to be done.  I had to do something fun, so I worked on this block which has already been delivered to the Stitchin' Post.  So, my Year of Applique continues!

This block will be part of a Collaborative Chicks banner that will hang at the Sisters Quilt Show.  They sent out this pattern which is taken from the front of Gwen and Freddy's book.  We were supposed to personalize our chicks.  My good friend and retreat buddy, Erin, suggested the party hat and she offered the Angelina fiber on the top of the hat.  She also had the ric rac to use for for the hat brim.  I love how it came out and I can't wait to see it with the other blocks.

The retreat was so much fun, but I came home very tired and have needed to focus on family this week.  Tomorrow is start of four days of the Central Oregon Quilt Shop Hop too.  So much to do.

Thanks to all the great responses to my scrap dilemma.  I have most of the scraps spoken for and shipped off.  The Christmas doggy print blocks are still here and I may have enough for a couple of small boxes of general scraps.  I will have to check with those who already commented on the last post to see who wants what's left.   More retreat photos to come soon!
