Cactus and Quilt

006

I moved my Christmas cactus to the sofa table since it was looking so pretty with it's first blooming season ever.  Wasn't it amazing when I went to get this little quilt and discovered that it matches almost exactly!

This mini is the one that came in the October 6"-12" mini swap from Flickr.  I joined again for January and the theme is "solids and Gee's Bend".  Sounds like a swap made for me.  I've actually got one done, but have in mind a few more.  One to swap and the rest for me!  There is also now a mini quilt unswap group for those who don't like to swap, but would like to join in on the challenges.  For this one you just post your photo of your version of a challenge for everyone to see.  No mailing, no having to part with a favorite quilt.

In other news, I have my first official position with my local quilt guild.  I'm now the guild secretary and the first board meeting is tomorrow night.  It should be interesting.  I don't have any short hand experience and I'm not a great handwriter, though back in the day I could take notes with the best of them.  I just have a feeling I've lost some handwriting speed in the 20 years since college.
