Happy November! I hope you had a nice Halloween. We had a busy day, but I did get out to enjoy a lovely cold and crisp autumn day in Concord, MA. The North Bridge and the Old Manse area is one of my favorite places to walk. Then we came home for a cozy evening and even got a few trick-or-treaters.
Today I want to share some of my recent stitching, new pincushions in my Etsy shop, and a note about the last day to order for Christmas delivery. So keep on reading if you want all the details.
October was a very busy month with a lot of day trips around New England to enjoy the beautiful fall weather. And with a lot of hand stitching every evening while we watched tv. I first got some embroidery kits out that I’ve had for quite and while and managed to finish many of them. Then I got busy with some of my own patchwork projects that needed embroidery embellishments. One of the projects was the 5 pincushions below that I put together last year and never finished. All the embroidery on these is done after it’s sewn together. I did that over the past week and got them listed in the shop today. I have a feeling this will be the last of these pincushions (pattern by Victoria Gertenbach). If you are interested in one don’t delay! They make great gifts for the sewists in your life.
I’ve also been adding embroidery embellishment to a group of rice bag panels that I put together last year. They are all different as you can see below and the embroidery is all done intuitively in the moment, so I never know how they will turn out. I likely won’t get these sewn into bags before Christmas, but I’ll update when I do get them listed in the shop.
Speaking of the shop, I will be out of the country in early December so the last day to order for Christmas gift delivery will be November 26th, which coincidentally is also my birthday. I traditionally do a birthday sale and will post about those details later this month. Meanwhile, there are plenty of goodies in my shop including: bags, quilts, brooches, greeting cards, and journals of all types. I hope you’ll stop by and see what I have to offer. Have a great month and I’ll post again as we get closer to Thanksgiving.
