Pushing the Envelope: Art in the Time of Pandemic

A few weeks ago I heard about a call for entry for a gallery in Massachusetts called Pulp. The exhibit is called Pushing the Envelope: Art in the Time of Pandemic. I thought it would be fun to enter, but it was the last possible date I could send my envelope and have it arrive on time. I quickly found a blank envelope in my studio and got to work. I also quickly realized that the envelope paper wasn’t really up to watercolor so I had to be careful and keep it to a minimum. This bird continues on the backside as you can see below.

It was fun to do and the exhibit looks pretty awesome. If I was anywhere nearby I’d be sure to go see it. All the envelopes are available for sale and since there are about 500 of them you have a lot to choose from. Check it out and support an artist if you can! If you click the “pushing the envelope” link at the top menu of the Pulp website you’ll be able to see the online gallery shots and individual shots of each envelope organized alphabetically.

PS- My envelope has some more art on the inside, a little surprise for anyone who would like to purchase it.
