Fireplace! There's nothing better than knitting by the fire on a cold day with the wind whistling outside. We have a gas fireplace now, but in the past have had the most wonderful real wood fireplaces. Sometimes I miss the comfortable smell of a wood fire, but now it sure is convenient to just turn it on. And there's the benefit for the environment and our lungs. When we camp we always have a fire and that seems to take care of the primal need to sit by a roaring fire. Speaking of fires, we took a trip to a local picnic area with our homeschool friends yesterday and made a fire to cook marshmallows. A grand time was had by all!
