Why you need a stash

Have you ever had someone say, "Why do you have all that fabric/yarn/crafty stuff?"  Well, here's the reason, you just never know when you are going to wake up with a great idea, but you also just want to stay home in your jammies.  Okay, I actually did finally get dressed about lunchtime, but I had all the supplies I needed right there at home for this lovely table runner based on Kathy'swavy seam tutorial.  This was created in one day from conception to the last stitch on the binding and only because I just happened to have the perfect fabrics in the stash.

I often wake up with a sudden inspiration, but I don't know that I've ever carried it out in one day.  I had so much fun making those wavy seams and they went very fast.  I pin basted and machine quilted with wavy lines on each strip using my walking foot so that I have nice even stitches.  Luckily, the slight curves are easy to do this way.  Then I bound it and finished just as the sun went down.  Very satisfying.

I didn't have the 1/2 yard of green that I wanted to use for the backing and even considered going out to get some, but came to my senses and chose the purple to put at each end.  It's fully reversible if I ever need to turn it over.

The Easter decorations have come out now that they have a pretty place to sit.

Are you ready for spring???
