Wild Geese Over Australia was finished a couple of weeks ago. This is based on the book, Cultural Fusion Quilts by Sujata Shah which is really a wonderful compendium of improvisational ideas. Many of her techniques were new to me though the designs are usually based on traditional blocks. I had such fun doing this one with my Australian print collection.
The binding was made with scraps leftover from all the various prints. This one is for my hubby and he appreciates the extra length.
As usual, the back was a lot of fun to piece. I was determined to use that snake print to advantage, so it is prominently placed.
Things are going to get interesting here at home. Last week we bought a new house in Bend. This week our current house goes on the market and next week I am off to QuiltCon! I hope I'll see some of you there. When I get back from QuiltCon I'm teaching Folk Art Animals at the Stitchin' Post on Feb 27. Call the shop if you are interested in joining me. It should be lots of fun! The new house is in construction with plans to be done at the end of March, so I'll soon be doing lots of packing. Wish me luck!
