Knitters and quilters are doing their part to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. I am amazed with the generosity of the people of this country and I'm proud to be in the company of the crafters who are donating money and quilts as gifts of love to the people who are displaced and have to rebuild their whole lives. The effects of the disaster are hard to bear. I've been knitting while watching the news at night and quilting while listening to NPR in the day. Luckily, I was just in the middle of making several quilts for charities in town. I will be able to donate at least one to Quilts.com who are collecting quilts in Houston to be distributed to the disaster victims there.
Today I took the day off to go on a hike with my Dad. It was a hike up Broken Top just outside of Bend. The views were spectacular. My legs are aching tonight!
