I’ve added a few things to my Etsy shops today. These fabric hearts are in my KristinShieldsArt shop. They are made from a vintage quilt, hand stitched and stuffed with wool. They are meant to be ornaments to hang for Valentine’s Day, but would also be nice to display all year long. Wouldn’t it be nice to hang several together on ribbon from the mantel? Our new house does not have a mantel, and let me tell you, I really miss it.
In my KMSHandmade shop I’ve got two new categories. One is for eye pillows. These are made from silk velvet shop samples that I was given several years ago. They are really luxurious- filled with flaxseed and locally grown lavender. This is the last of that fabric, so I won’t be making more for this collection.
Lastly, I am making a bunch of these adorable pincushions. The pattern is from Victoria Gertenbach. if you want to make one yourself, you’ll find the pattern on her etsy shop: VictoriaGertenbach. I’ve made mine with a bunch of scrap fabrics and most have something special added such as these hand printed, hand dyed squares with my “You Are My Sunshine” block print or a scrap of a Sara Parker Textiles print. They are filled with walnut shells, so may not be suitable for those with a nut allergy, but they are darn cute and satisfying to use.
