Last weekend we took advantage of my feeling pretty good to take a long awaited camping trip. This time we decided to check out Silver Falls State Park, on the west side of the Cascades where it would be a bit warmer than up in the High Lakes area east of the Cascades. We had a wonderful weekend, relaxing in the woods. Luckily, we got one of the last campsites on Saturday night. The campground was really crowded with kids that evening, which was great for Ryan. He had a marvelous time playing with anyone who wanted to ride bikes and scooters and he got to show off his Dad's RC truck.
We spent a lot of time around the campfire and luckily had brought plenty to wood from home. We played Scrabble many times, Chloe and I made ATC's and I knitted.
On Sunday morning we took a hike on a portion of the falls hike where dogs are allowed. Unfortunately the only waterfall accessible on that portion wasn't flowing at this time of the year. It was still a wonderful hike in woods that are so dense it feels you might come around the corner and meet a dinosaur.
