Last week we had a wonderful visit with Mark's parents on Cape Cod. We had lots of time to comb the beach for sea glass, play games, knit and bike. Their house is just a couple of blocks from the beach, which looks out to Martha's Vineyard. Our first day was the most perfect beach day.
On the second day we rented bikes to make the 13 mile round trip ride to Wood's Hole. Along the way we found a couple of geocaches.
We had a couple of rainy days, but bananagrams and cribbage saved the day.
On another beautiful day we took the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and rented bikes there. We had a nice walk around the Martha's Vineyard Camp Meeting Association. It's a site with a remarkable history and just full of these whimsically painted Victorian houses.
We also rode the oldest carousel in the United States. None of us caught the brass ring though.
This bike ride was longer- at about 18 miles. It was so beautiful and the island is well served with dedicated bike paths.
For our last day on the cape we just had to spend the morning at the beach. Then the fog rolled in and we said our good byes.
More to come from that trip and yes, even quilts from the Sisters show. Today we're off to the Deschutes County Fair and I'll have more photos to go through. I've taken well over 1000 photos this month. It's a lot to organize!
Thank you to all those who commented on the last post. It was so much fun to read your comments. I appreciate them all so much. The winner of the prize is Hedgehog! Congratulations! I will be sending it out next week before I leave for the Sock Summit in Portland, OR. If any of you plan to be there please let me know so we can get together!
