Right now the town of Sisters, Oregon has been overtaken by a thick cover of smoke from the Milli fire west of town. In fact, the smoke is covering much of central Oregon including my house in Bend and there are bits of ash falling. I hope the fire fighting efforts are successful and we have no lives lost or property damage. Despite all that, I want to take you back to the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show in July. I actually have one more post to do after this one and I want to get them done by tomorrow so I can post about the eclipse next week. Stay tuned for that!
The Central Oregon SAQA group is an active group of some 20-30 quilt artists from our region and even a few from over the mountains in western Oregon. There's some serious talent here, probably due to our extreme good fortune of having the Stitchin' Post in town, along with all the great teachers Jean Wells brings in. The challenge for this year had the theme Pathways and there are many different interpretations. I think I may have missed a few of the quilts, but this is most of them. I hope you enjoy!
