It's almost here! Can you feel the excitement building? I will have 12 quilts in the Sisters show this year plus 6 inside of sponsor businesses in Sisters and Bend. In addition to showing them here again for those who can't make it to the show, I thought it might be nice to show them here as a reminder and to have the locations listed in case you don't get a chance to look them up in the information binders. FYI, if you do want to look them up, binders are located behind the Stitchin' Post (near the Quilt Show Info table) with all the locations for every quilt entered. You do need to know the name of the quilter in order to look them up. I have noted which quilts are FOR SALE below. To buy a FOR SALE quilt you must go to the quilt in person and remove the attached tag. This is how you know that it's available. You then take the tag to the Quilt Show Sales Office in the Chamber of Commerce, corner of Spruce and Main, to make your purchase. A percentage of the purchase price goes to the quilt show.
In addition to this information, I wanted to share some good news I got today. Love in the Digital Age has been juried into the AQS Chattanooga show (September 16-19, 2015). That was a very nice email to wake up to this morning. I will get it mailed off sometime in the next couple of weeks.
Special Exhibit Quilts
Love in the Digital Age (above) was made for a special exhibit for the Mt Bachelor Quilters' Guild Ruby Celebration in honor of the 40th Anniversary of the Quilt Show. It will be located at Leavitt's Western Wear Lawn, #35 on your show map (you'll find the quilt show guide all over town).
Plain and Fancy is my entry into the Honored Quilter exhibit. All of the past Featured Quilters, Featured Machine Quilters, Inspirational Instructors, and Featured Speakers have been asked to submit one quilt for a special exhibit for the 40th Anniversary. The exhibit will be located at Western Title Building, #4 on your show map.
Take Five is part of a special exhibit of quilts by Students of Rosalie Dace. The location is 178 Elm St and Hood Avenue, #22 on your show map.
Roundabout Bend is part of the A View From Above special exhibit by the Central Oregon Studio Art Quilt Associates group. It will be located in Clearwater Gallery's courtyard, #13 on your show map.
Gee's Bend Treasure is an old one that was invited to be a part of the Central Oregon Modern Quilt Guild's Inspired by the Quilters of Gee's Bend special exhibit. It will be located at Sisters Drug & Gift, #33 on your show map.
Log Cabin Variation is also part of the Central Oregon Modern Quilt Guild's Inspired by the Quilters of Gee's Bend special exhibit. It will be located at Sisters Drug & Gift, #33 on your show map.
The Moon Above Sees it All was made for the Undercover Quilters Book Club. The special exhibit includes quilts inspired by On the Divinity of Second Chances by Kaya McLaren. It will be located at Blue Burro Imports, #37 on your show map.
There is one more quilt that will be shown in a special exhibit, but it hasn't had its debut yet. My entry for the Stitchin' Post Employee Challenge will be revealed tomorrow (Friday) night at the Picnic in the Park. I will schedule a post about it to publish tomorrow night so look for it! The Employee Challenge quilts are hung early Saturday morning by the Sisters Fire Department. Look for them on the east end of the Stitchin' Post building. If you have never seen this spectacle in person, it's tons of fun!
