The Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show has come and gone for another year. The little town of Sisters was filled with about 1500 quilts today, more than I've ever seen! It was pretty amazing. I've organized my photos into several groupings and will start today with the featured quilters and a couple of special exhibits.
Tamra Dumolt
First up is my friend Tamra Dumolt who was the Featured Quilter this year. Tamra is well known for her precise piecing and incredible color sense. She worked at the Stitchin' Post for many years and has just recently moved to Washington. We miss her very much, so it was great to catch up at the quilt show. What a lovely exhibit in the shadiest spot in town.
Corni Quinlivan
Corni Quinlivan is also a friend and member of Mt Bachelor Quilters' Guild as well as the Central Oregon Modern Quilt Guild. Corni was the Featured Machine Quilter today. Her work is exquisite. She has the remarkable talent to be able to adjust the style of quilting to the quilt, from sweet 1930's to full out modern. I had two hostess slots this morning and one of them was in the section with Corni's exhibit. It was great to be able to see her having such a good time chatting with all the visitors.
Freddy Moran
Freddy Moran had a beautiful exhibit along this storefront. I love her color sense and playfulness.
Sue Spargo
Sue Spargo was the Inspirational Instructor this year. Her exhibit was just incredible. I have seen many of her quilts in person over the years, but never so many in one place and there were a few that were new to me. For those who don't know, Sue works mainly in beautiful hand dyed wool with smaller amounts of cotton prints. I have always loved Sue's folk art style and use of animal themes. It was such a treat to see this exhibit.
